Day 1: Singapore - Kuala Lumpur
Day 2: Kuala Lumpur - Sepang - Singapore
THE PREPARATION
As I have just gotten my new super motard, the Suzuki DRZ-SM, I'm kind of excited to bring it to track. It was kind of a last minute decision that I've decided to go to Sepang for track day, so I got Jen and Fern along as well. Both of them are riding a Vespa and have never been to track prior to this trip.
DAY 1 (14 July 2007, Saturday)
We met up at GP Esso at 1400hrs and proceeded on along North South Highway towards Kuala Lumpur.
By about 1800hrs, we have arrived at Hilton Kuala Lumpur and moved our stuffs into the room. As usual, the stay at Hilton KL is always good - 42inch plasma tv, king sized bathtub, open concept bathroom, rainshower, LCD tv in the bathroom, etc...
After we have washed up, we went down to KL Sentral for a quick train ride to Jalan Imbi for our favourite king prawn noodle and herbal leave wrapped chicken. And off we went to Bt Bintan for some shopping before heading back to the hotel for an early night's rest.
DAY 2 (15 July 2007, Sunday)
I got up at 6am for breakfast and very quickly packed up and we checked out of the hotel by 7am. We navigated ourselves with ease out of KL and arrived in Sepang International Circuit in less than an hour.
Track registration starts at 8am. We got our tickets, completed the registration, and paid RM100 for the 3hr track day session. In no time, we were zooming around on the track.
At the end of the session, we were all shagged.... however we still managed to ride 300km back to Singapore. It was a great experience though the DRZ is indeed slow on such a huge track! I was doing 27secs slower than what I did with my Yamaha R6 at each lap!
