2011 Shell Advance MotoGP at Sepang

The 2011 MotoGP title was decided last weekend at Philip Island, Australia, with Casey Stoner crowned the World Champion on home soil with his win, as Jorge Lorenzo failed to start the race due to a broken finger in the warm up practise. Lorenzo will continue to miss the race at Sepang.

ITINERARY:

Day 2: Sepang - Singapore

DAY 1 (22 October 2011, Saturday)

Setting off at 0830hrs in the morning, Novi and I went to JB for breakfast before heading up to Sepang via the North South Highway. Fuel consumption on the Nissan Latio is pretty decent at 12km/ltr based on an average speed of 130-140km/h on the North South Highway.

Marco Simoncelli lost control of his bike on the second lap of the circuit and was hit by Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi. His helmet came off in the collision and he was taken to the medical centre for treatment, but died from his injuries.

Medical director announced that Simoncelli suffered 'serious trauma' to the head, neck and chest in the accident. The organisers cancelled Sunday's race as soon as the extent of Simoncelli's injuries became apparent.

After the saddening incident, we proceed back to Singapore, stopping over in Yong Peng for dinner.
