On Another Trip to Kukup

Kukup is a small fishing village located about forty kilometres southwest of Johor Bahru, in the district of Pontian, Johor, on the Strait of Malacca in Malaysia. It is famous for its open-air seafood restaurants built on stilts over the water. Some of the restaurants are geared for tour groups, and it is particularly popular with Singaporeans.



ITINERARY:

Day 1: Singapore - Kukup
Day 2: Kukup - Singapore



DAY 1 (11 February 2012, Saturday)

This is the 3rd time that Tangshooters has organised a 2D1N trip to Kukup. We meet up at Chinese Gardens MRT where we were picked up by a minibus at 0900hrs, and proceed to Malaysia via the Woodlands Immigration Checkpoint.

The first stop was at Queen Park Restaurant in Perling for a quick morning breakfast, before the 1hr journey to Kukup.




On arrival at Kukup town, we were greeted by the resort staff, who brought us to Long Wan Restaurant for seafood lunch.











After lunch, we checked into My Kukup Resort. My Kukup Resort is clean and simple, with air conditioning, Astro cable channel, a reasonably clean bathroom/toilet, karaoke and mahjong gamesets.




Due to the humid weather, most of us decided to stay indoor to enjoy the karaoke, or keep ourselves busy with a game of mahjong. We bought beer, chips and even fireworks to keep ourselves entertained.

After dinner, we bought some Kong Ming Lanterns to set off into the skies

Back at the Resort, Jimmy brought along Tangshooter's favourite game: The Roulette drinking game. We played a couple of drinking games including 'Bruff Chewdren'! It never fails to entertain and create non-stop fun!




DAY 2 (12 February 2012, Sunday)

We woke up to day light with the sun casting beautiful colours on the landscape.

After breakfast, some of them went for the boat trip to visit the fish/seafood farms, while some of us remained at the resort for karaoke/mahjong.

Upon checking out, we had another seafood lunch at New Kukup Restaurant.









After lunch, we departed Kukup at around 1320hrs and arrived back in Singapore at around 1500hrs on a smooth bus journey.
