Phuket Bike Week & Songkran Fest '08

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Singapore - Phuket
Day 2: Phuket
Day 3: Phuket - Singapore



DAY 1 (12 April 2008, Saturday)

Hey, its my 5th consecutive year in Thailand for Songkran Festival (water splashing festival). Hence I'll show more pictures in this series instead of writing. By the way, this time round, all photos on this page are courtesy of Chung, Sazali and Michael.

On arrival at Phuket International Airport, with Michael fetching us from the airport with a rented 3.0ltrs car.


We stayed at the Patong Beach Lodge as usual. Rates were slightly higher than last year, at S$32 per room per night. It's still quite a good price to pay for, considering the cleanliness and the good location.


Michael has already prepared water guns for us as he had arrived in Phuket 2 days earlier. He mass ordered 10 guns for us in total.


This year's Phuket Bike Week event was scattered over 3 locations in Phuket. Here's the bike displays at Jungceylon Shopping Centre.

By noon, water war has already begun. It's almost impossible to remain dry as long as you are on the streets.




Lady boys roamed the streets in bikinis as usual



Nevertheless, some chose to remain dry.....




DAY 2 (13 April 2008, Sunday)

Today is the actual Songkran Day, as you can see, the crowd at Soi Bangla is crazy.....







Hey, wait! Isn't this Adam Sandler? HaHa... He's in Phuket too!


This guy even had a diving mask on!


As the crowd at Soi Bangla becomes too intense, we decided to go to Jungceylon for more water fun.



Time for a break

Today was an even more tiring day. We went back for a shower at night, and then went for dinner, before settling for a facial session for just 299Baht.




DAY 3 (14 April 2008, Monday)

Again, its always sad to leave, but we got to catch a flight back to Singapore and get our asses back to work the next day. Hope to see ya in 2009 Songkran!
